Your chef arrives once a week, builds a fully custom menu around your household's preferences and dietary needs, shops, cooks, and leaves your kitchen spotless. Same chef, every week. This is the service that changes how your family eats -- permanently.

A restaurant-quality plated dinner in your home. Multi-course menus designed around your occasion, your guests, and your dietary needs. We arrive, cook, serve, and leave nothing behind except the memory of a great meal. Ideal for intimate gatherings of up to 12–15 guests.
Events & Catering
Corporate gatherings, celebrations, and private events for 20 to 300+ guests. Buffet-style and station setups, full-service execution. Clean invoices for corporate clients -- business entertainment is typically 50–100% tax deductible.

LiveGreensPDX was founded in Portland in 2020, but the model has been running since 2009 -- under different names, in different cities, with the same philosophy. Food is medicine. What you eat every day determines how you feel, how you perform, and how long you thrive.
We are fully licensed, insured, and Food Handler certified. Our founder received his Culinary Arts Certification in 2006 from Fox Valley Technical College, training under Chef Jeffrey Lorenz. Since then the team has cooked across the country, serving everyone from weekly Portland families to 300-person events at SXSW.

Weekly Chef Service
Not at all. Many of our weekly clients are not home during service. Most leave a key, an access code, or an unlocked door. Your chef handles everything and leaves your kitchen cleaner than they found it. You will come home to a fully stocked fridge and a spotless kitchen.
We do, based on everything we know about your household. Your chef sends a proposed menu 72 hours before your service day. You have 24 hours to approve it, request changes, or swap anything out. If we do not hear back, the menu is confirmed and we move forward. Over time your chef learns your preferences, seasonal favorites, and what your family actually eats -- the menus get better every week.
Simple and straightforward. Your first week is invoiced manually. After that, your service fee is charged automatically each week via the card on file. Groceries are billed separately after each service at cost -- no markup, ever. Your weekly rate is locked in for one full year from your start date.
Clear countertops, empty sink, unloaded dishwasher, and fridge space for your meals -- about half a shelf for 10–12 meals, a full shelf or more for 15+ meals. Pets should be kept out of the kitchen. Containers are your responsibility. Glass containers with locking lids are strongly recommended. We do not supply containers. If your kitchen requires significant cleanup beyond normal expectations, a $100 kitchen reset fee may apply.
Rescheduling and cancellations require at least 72 hours notice prior to your scheduled service. Changes inside that window may be treated as a cancellation and charged in full. We understand that life happens -- just give us enough lead time to adjust on our end.
Yes. New clients can elect a one-week trial billed at the standard weekly rate before entering a recurring billing cycle. After the trial, service continues on the selected weekly structure unless you opt out in writing.
Dietary Needs & Allergies
This is one of our core strengths. Over 15 years we have built menus around gluten-free, dairy-free, celiac disease, tree nut allergies, SIBO protocols, vegan, keto, paleo, and virtually every other dietary restriction you can name. We do not adapt a standard menu to fit your needs -- we design the entire menu from the ground up around them. If your situation is complex or involves multiple overlapping restrictions, that is exactly the type of client we are built for.
Absolutely. One guest vegan, another gluten-free, a third with a nut allergy -- this is a normal event for us. We collect dietary information during planning and build the menu so every guest is fully covered without anyone feeling like they received a lesser experience.
In-Home Dining & Events
For in-home plated dinners, one week minimum -- two weeks or more is preferred and allows for the best menu planning and sourcing. For larger events and catering, 3–4 weeks minimum is recommended, sooner for events over 100 guests or during peak seasons like summer and the holidays. If you have a last-minute need, reach out anyway -- we will always let you know what is possible.
In-home dining is an intimate, restaurant-quality plated experience for up to 19 guests. Multi-course dinner with full table service -- we cook, plate, serve, and clean. Designed for anniversaries, milestone celebrations, and elevated private dinners.
Event catering is buffet or station-style service for larger gatherings of 20 to 300+ guests. Corporate parties, backyard events, weddings, and celebrations where the format is social and the volume is higher.
Events within 20 miles of the Portland/Vancouver metro area -- no travel fee. Beyond that:
For weekly chef service, travel fees may apply for clients outside the core Portland metro and Vancouver WA service zone. Ask when you fill out the form and we will give you an exact number.
Logistics & Trust
Yes. LiveGreensPDX is fully licensed and insured as a personal chef service provider. All chefs hold current food handler permits. We follow strict food safety and sanitation standards on every service.
If your primary chef is unavailable, we will send a qualified LiveGreensPDX chef to cover the service. Your household profile, preferences, and dietary needs travel with the account -- not the individual chef -- so quality and consistency stay intact.
If we miss the mark on something within our control -- a dietary restriction not followed, a quality issue, or a service execution problem -- we will make it right. That might mean a complimentary re-cook, a service credit, or a credit toward a future service depending on the situation. We stand behind our work. We show up prepared, professional, and fully committed to your household every single time.
Either party can terminate the service agreement with 15 days written notice. As a professional courtesy, 30 days is appreciated. Any services scheduled within the notice period proceed as normal unless otherwise agreed. Your rate is locked for one full year from your start date -- it does not change unless your service scope changes.
